My battery is almost gone .... but I was able to find a hard-line connection in the basement of the hospitality house that I'm staying in .... thanks to all that have posted encouraging comments.
Update: Dad is doing well and will likely be released to his post-transplant apartment tomorrow. Hopefully the new place will have wi-fi!!!
p.s. I found a library of old paperbacks in the basement too .... reading Ray Bradbury and Dorothy Sayers feels sort of educational and valuable ... on the other had reading a book by Jonathan Frakes (Cmdr. Riker from Star Trek) and his ghost writer isn't quite as noble.

I am very glad to hear that everything is progressing as it should.
A wifi connection and a library is enough to keep me happily occupied for days. I think I'd prefer the Frakes book.
Looks like you'll have at least one more night in the hospitality house...so enjoy connection while you can. I have a feeling you won't have it again until you leave ST. Louis.
better have some good books if you loose your connection
