Santa-Pitch 2007 and The Angel

Well .... I've been away from blog-land for a while and though I don't have much to post about, I feel I owe my readers (both of them) a little update. I won't blog much about our vacation since all of you got play-by-plays from T while we were down south and since we've been back - thanks to wi-fi.

My return to work this week has been a bit hectic. In fact, I was at the office until after 7pm on Thursday (sorry I missed homer's guys). Over the next 3 weeks... I'll be manually creating a daily report of every Citibank Collector's registration date, start date, and completion date as part of our launch of a new online training system. Did I mention it was daily?!?!?!?

Oh well ... back to my post .... Two bright moments have made my hectic new year a bit more joyus. The first was immediately obvious when we pulled into the driveway - my trash can had 2 wheels!!!!!

Those of you that hadn't visited during Nov. and Dec., might not have noticed that our gigantic green trash dumpster (**Property of the City of Rolla**) recently lost a wheel. My multiple trips to hardware, housewear, big-box, and department stores had all left me empty-handed in trying to replace the wheel ... I found plenty the right size, but the hole for the axle was always just a little too small.

On New Years Eve we rolled in our two-wheeled trash dumpster thanks to some secret angel's work. I don't know who you are ... or where you found the wheel, but I do want to say thanks here just in case any of my readers helped make this happen.

My second little happy moment came in getting all of our Christmas stuff down .... and not having to put all of it away. It's sad to admit, but T and I rarely are able to put out all of our decorations in any given year because we have waaaaaay too much. This year though, we were able to drop some of our less-than perfect 'treasures' into the 2-Wheeled "Rolla Express". We also identified some goodies that are being put up for decorating-adoption. Many are gently or never-used and would love a new home. So if you have a bit more room in that holiday tub (say for a Christmas themed throw blanket ... or a lovely Santa figurine) please let us know - we will deliver without charge in the KC area.

Oh, in case you are wondering; we double checked .... nothing in the "Rolla Express" or "Adopt a Trinket" inventory came from anyone that has ever read my blog.

It was so AWESOME to come home to the trash can being fixed. We have looked into buying new one since the we hadn't been able to find the right wheel. Right as we pulled away I thought to myself "wouldn't it be great if we came home and the trash can was fixed!" We pulled in and I said "it's not lopsided!"

So, I razzed you at church about not posting then I realize that you did in fact post. Oops!

That was very nice of whoever the secret Santa was. I wonder if it was a neighbor or something like that.

We have a neighbor that's handy with stuff like that, so that's our guess too!
